I was very happy to contribute original score to a piece by Eleanor McDowall that was commissioned by ABC for their Radio With Pictures strand. You can watch it above.
I’ve done a lot of work with Eleanor, who produces radio at Falling Tree. She makes the incredible “Short Cuts” series for BBC Radio 4. If you don’t know it, it’s a lovely radio show featuring many short documentaries, all tied together by a common theme, and Josie Long‘s hilarious narration. It’s brilliant!
The show’s theme tune is an instrumental by Andrew Bird, and on several occasions I’ve recorded a “cover version” to make the tune’s arrangement more appropriate for the episode’s theme. Taking a tune and making a new arrangement for it is always a lot of fun! You can find every episode of Short Cuts here.
